Shohei Ohtani’s Status for Dodgers in World Series Game 3 Revealed by Dave Roberts

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani will play in Game 3 of the World Series despite suffering a shoulder injury on Saturday night, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Ohtani sustained a shoulder injury in his left arm during a stolen base attempt in the seventh inning of Game 2. Roberts told ESPN’s Karl Ravech that Ohtani is “in a great spot and will be playing in Game 3 tomorrow.”

The designated hitter has a left shoulder subluxation and underwent tests immediately after the game as well as Sunday morning. The early test results were encouraging, according to Roberts.

The latest update indicates that Ohtani’s shoulder injury is something that he can play through, which will bring Dodgers fans a sense of relief as the series continues in New York.

Ohtani left Dodger Stadium almost immediately after Saturday night’s game ended and didn’t speak to the media. The Japanese broadcast said Ohtani said his shoulder popped out after the stolen base attempt. He was in obvious pain and stayed on the ground as the inning concluded.

Through two games of the Fall Classic, Ohtani is 1-for-8 with a double and a walk.
