Spring Training Preview: Zack Greinke Faces The Giants

With Opening Day a little more than a week away, the lineup for the Los Angeles Dodgers is beginning to shape up into what we expect to see on the field April 6 against the San Diego Padres.
With Vin Scully calling the game on TV for the first time this spring, Zack Greinke will make his fourth start of Cactus League play as he faces the San Francisco Giants at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.
Statistically, Greinke is having his best Spring Training as a Dodger. He is 1-0 with an ERA of 3.00, and has allowed a .207 batting average. In both of the previous two springs, the 31-year-old former Cy Young Award winner had an ERA north of 5.00 and allowed a batting average above .300.
Taking the mound for the Giants is Chris Heston, a 26-year-old right-hander who doesn’t have the most powerful arm in the Giants’ rotation, but can throw strikes and works well against lefties.
Heston, who made his MLB debut in September against the Dodgers, will be making his second start and fifth overall appearance this spring. He has an ERA of 2.00 in nine innings of work, with batters hitting only .194 against him.
