Start Times For Entire Dodgers, Padres NLDS Matchup Revealed
The Los Angeles Dodgers take the big stage this weekend as they begin postseason baseball — in primetime. The starting times have been announced for the National League Division Series between the Dodgers and San Diego Padres, and all five games will begin in the evening time window.
Game 1 and Game 2 will both take place at Dodger Stadium. Game 1 on Saturday will begin at 5:38 p.m. PT. Game 2 on Sunday will start slightly earlier at 5:03 p.m. PT.
The series will then move to Petco Park in San Diego, beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:08 p.m. PT. If the series needs to go to a fourth game, the series will continue at Petco Park on Wednesday at 6:08 p.m. PT. If the series needs a fifth game, it will return to Dodger Stadium. The series finale would then take place on Friday, Oct. 11 at 5:08 p.m. PT.
The Dodgers are looking to win the NLDS for the first time since 2021. The Dodgers have lost in their first round of the postseason each of the last two seasons, losing to the Padres in 2022 and the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023.
Getting the series victory will be no easy feat against this Padres team. Not only did the Padres show in 2022 that they could pull off the upset against the Dodgers in the playoffs, but they are currently hot. The Padres swept the Atlanta Braves in the NL Wild Card round, and have generally been hot since the All-Star break.
The Padres have also defeated the Dodgers in eight of their 13 games this season, and have had the overall edge over Los Angeles this season.
