Throwback Thursday: Dodgers Celebrate NL West Title In DBacks Pool

pool

There was a lot of controversy yesterday when the Diamondbacks requested the Dodgers not come back out onto the field if they were to clinch the NL West while in Arizona.

Well, the Dodgers clinched the division and after retiring to the clubhouse for the champagne showers, they honored the Diamondbacks request and didn’t celebrate on the field. However, they took things one step further and went for a swim in the swimming pool beyond the right field fence.

Carl Crawford, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Brandon League and others raced out and started doing cannonballs as a way to celebrate their historic comeback. In late June, the Dodgers were 30-42 and 9.5 games behind the Diamondbacks and with the Giants having a down season, they were the Dodgers biggest rival this season.

With a great group of guys in the clubhouse and players that are genuinely happy to be playing with each other, the Dodgers certainly celebrated the NL West in style.
