Tweets Of The Night: Dodgers Fall 4-2, Force Must-Win Game 5
The Dodgers are fresh off their first victory in the NLCS after beating the Cardinals 3-0 in Game 3 last night. Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched seven great innings and didn’t allow a run as the Dodger offense finally broke through with some clutch hitting.
Tonight, Ricky Nolasco made his postseason debut and the Dodgers needed him to execute for them to have a chance at tying the series at two. During the regular season, Nolasco was 13-11 with a 3.70, but hasn’t pitched in the postseason because he was replaced by Clayton Kershaw in Game 4 of the NLDS. Nolasco grew up a Dodger fan and tonight he realized his dream of pitching for the Dodgers in October.
The Cardinals had Lance Lynn on the mound tonight and he already has a victory in this series against the Dodgers, pitching two scoreless innings of relief in Game 1. In the regular season, he posted a record of 15-10 with a 3.97 ERA and in his only start in the postseason, he lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates by only going 4.1 innings and allowing five earned runs.
The Dodgers had the exact same lineup in Game 4 as they did last night, but the Cardinals inserted Daniel Descalso at shortstop and he hit eighth.
Let’s get to the tweets of the night.
