Video: Mattingly Discusses Team’s Identity And Koufax At Camp
Los Angeles Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly will be at the helm of a World Series favorite and is using the spring to make final decisions while establishing a team identity.
The Dodgers return most of their core from their National League West champion team that seemed to come together during their 42-8 run that began in late June. Mattingly wants to make sure the team is executing and getting things done as a team. He also added that the small things can make a big difference, especially in the postseason. Mattingly also mentioned the team’s emotions and how he doesn’t mind it as long as the team is getting things done.
Also, Mattingly spoke about having former Dodger left-hander Sandy Koufax in camp during the spring and said he’ll be around watching some bullpen sessions. He also expressed his happiness that Koufax is around and it seems as if the former Cy Young pitcher is able to do as he pleases around the team.
