Video: Ron Burgundy Calls Gibson’s HR, Partying With Vin Scully

On his promotional tour for “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”, actor Will Ferrell stopped by the Dan Patrick Show dressed as Ron Burgundy and reenacted some of the historical radio and TV calls in sports history. He also took some time to discuss his days partying in Tijuana with Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully.

Burgundy begins the show with his version of the call on Kirk Gibson’s 1988 World Series walk-off home run against relief pitcher Dennis Eckersley. His version had Eckersley telling his wife to bring the car around because he was going to strike out Gibson before the fateful pitch.

He then goes on to do a few more memorable sports moments, including Vin Scully’s call on the ground ball that went through Bill Buckner’s legs in the 1986 World Series. The mention of Scully causes Burgundy to recall his times with the Dodger broadcaster and their days partying in Tijuana.
