The Blue Jays took Game 1 in convincing fashion, but LA responded with wins in Games 2 and 3 to take control of the series — the latter of which went 18 innings and ended on a Freddie Freeman walk-off home run.

However, Toronto didn’t quit, instead stealing Games 4 and 5 at Dodger Stadium, putting them one win away from the title with two games coming at home.

The Dodgers won Game 6 behind a dominant Yoshinobu Yamamoto performance, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7. While the Blue Jays dominated most of the game, the Dodgers clawed back in the late innings, and took their first lead of the game in the 11th en route to their second consecutive World Series championship.

  3. The Dodgers did not hit or pitch with consistency or continuity throughout the season. Don’t know if it was the injuries or a combination of injuries and staying sharp. However, just enough key moments came from some of the expected talent and arrived at crucial times form unexpected places, which is exactly what happened in Game 7. They are a seasoned group and had to play tough all year since every team played their own world series against the Dodgers all season long. It’s tough to stay motivated and keep showing up every day with your A game for 162 games (177 through post season), which is another reason why teams like the Angels were able to sweep them during the regular season. The Dodgers did prove to be the best team in the end. I said midseason when they were losing, that lesser teams find ways to lose and good teams will eventually find ways to win. Toronto and everyone else found ways to lose and the Dodgers found MANY ways to win!
