Yankees Fans Who Violated Dodgers’ Mookie Betts in World Series Banned From MLB Stadiums Indefinitely

The two New York Yankees fans who grabbed Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts during the World Series have been banned from Major League Baseball stadiums indefinitely, according to a report from the New York Post.

Austin Capobianco and John P. Hansen, who were kicked out of World Series Game 4 for their actions grabbing Betts, will now be unable to return to an MLB stadium for the foreseeable future.

MLB sent a letter to the fans which was obtained by the Post that read: “Your conduct posed a serious risk to the health and safety of the player and went far over the line of acceptable fan behavior. Based on your conduct, Major League Baseball is banning you indefinitely from all MLB stadiums, offices, and other facilities.”

The letter also said that if either of them are found at an MLB stadium, they are subject to arrest for trespassing.

The incident took place in the bottom of the first inning of World Series Game 4. Betts made a great play towards the seats in foul ground, before being grabbed by two fans who tried to rip the ball out of his glove.

In the moment, Betts handled it like an absolute professional. However, later on, he admitted what he really wanted to say to those two fans.

“I would really say f— you guys,” Betts said as a guest on the Back That Year Up 2024 special last month.

“I thought about throwing the ball at them and then I realized, ‘Mook you ain’t gonna do s—, go back to right field!’”

While Betts kept his cool during the moment, the two Yankees fans were escorted out of Yankee Stadium. The season-ticket holders weren’t allowed to return for Game 5, which ended up being the final game of the series.

After being kicked out of the game, the fans caught up with ESPN’s Jesse Rogers at a local bar, and said this was always their plan if a ball came towards them.

“We always joke about the ball in our area,” Capobianco said. “We’re not going to go out of our way to attack. If it’s in our area, we’re going to ‘D’ up.

“Someone defends, someone knocks the ball. We talk about it. We’re willing to do this.”

Their actions have now cost them the ability to attend MLB games for the foreseeable future. As for Betts, he and the Dodgers got the last laugh as they beat the Yankees in five games to win the World Series.
