2 Dodgers Free Agents Drawing Interest From Angels

In a recent article from The New York Post’s Jon Heyman, he reported that the Los Angeles Angels are showing interest in a pair of former Dodgers. According to Heyman, the Halos have considered Amed Rosaria and Kiké Hernández as depth pieces for their team.

But they are also looking at depth pieces and are said to be considering former Met Amed Rosario, Kiké Hernandez

The Angels need help all over the diamond and bats off the bench. They have some core pieces – Mike Trout, Mickey Moniak, Luis Rengifo – but not much beyond that.

Since they need another outfielder and infielder, someone like Hernández makes a lot of sense. He wants playing time, and the Angels can give him a fairly regular opportunity all over the field.

Reports indicate that Hernandez prefers to stay with the Dodgers, but Los Angeles may not have a need for him this season. If not brought back to L.A., the Angels would at least keep him in the Southern California area.

Right now, 23-year-old Zach Neto figures to play the majority of games at shortstop. Neto only has one year of MLB experience, so a veteran like Amed Rosario could help bring him along.

The Dodgers have seemingly locked up the position players for the 2024 season. Barring injury, it looks like Rosario and Hernandez are likely headed elsewhere.

  1. The Dodgers are in the win the World Series mode this year and my only question for position players is at catcher with long time backup Barnes. The Dodgers clearly have two in the minors that should be brought up to be given a chance to show themselves. My only thought is maybe the Dodgers don’t believe their own hype and that Rushing or Cartaya arent really the top prospects as claimed.
