Another Positive Update On Former Dodger Justin Turner Rolls Through
We witnessed one of the more graphic injuries this Spring Training come at the hands of one of our former fan favorites Justin Turner. Matt Manning of the Tigers threw a fastball that smacked Turner directly in the face and instantly caused him to start pouring blood.
We all know just how tough Turner is and even though the injury itself looked pretty bad, many fans were confident JT would be okay. He was able to walk off of the field on his own and immediately went to the hospital. Fortunately, the former All-Star did not sustain any fractures and needed about 16 stitches to ensure all would be good moving forward.
The good news continues for JT as Rob Bradford of Audacity Sports reported that the 38-year-old is already getting his stitches taken out and may attend batting practice tomorrow.
“Justin Turner might take BP tomorrow,” said Bradford. “Getting stitches out.”
Turner already getting his stitches removed just five days following the injury is a great sign moving forward. For having played 14 seasons in the MLB, Turner hasn’t racked up too many serious injuries and majority of them came later in his career.
We’ll keep you updated as the former Dodgers champion progresses back to the lineup.
