Austin Barnes Scratched From Dodgers’ Lineup on Tuesday vs Angels

The Los Angeles Dodgers have released a new lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Catcher Austin Barnes, who was slated to bat in the No. 9 hole, was scratched from the lineup, and replaced by catcher Chris Okey.



Here’s the new full lineup:

  1. Mookie Betts, 2B
  2. Shohei Ohtani, DH
  3. Freddie Freeman, 1B
  4. Teoscar Hernández, LF
  5. Max Muncy, 3B
  6. Jason Heyward, RF
  7. Kiké Hernández, CF
  8. Miguel Rojas, SS
  9. Chris Okey, C

There’s no word yet about why Barnes was scratched, but we will provide an update when we know more.

    1. Totally agree. The only reason he is still on the team is because he is Kershaw’s favorite catcher.

  1. I hope he was scratched indefinitely, or permanently. He is the only offensive hole in the lineup (worse than Rojas, who makes up for it on defense), a dependable out for whoever we are playing against. Thank him for his service, and trade him to a needy team for prospects.
