Blake Snell Will Miss At Least 2 Starts for Dodgers: ‘We’ll See From There’ Says Dave Roberts
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell will miss at least two starts while he is on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation. Snell was supposed to start Tuesday against the Washington Nationals, but was sidelined after throwing a bullpen Sunday.

“He started his bullpen and experienced some soreness,” manager Dave Roberts said. “We just felt right there, you’re going to miss a start. We can backdate the three days. I don’t know who we’re bringing, but obviously someone will make his start on Tuesday.”
Landon Knack is in Washington D.C. with the team, seemingly hinting that he could make the start against the Nationals tomorrow. There has been no confirmation the Dodger will use the right-hander in the coming days, but Knack is certainly an option to replace Snell.
Snell landed on the injured list twice last season with the San Francisco Giants, and it’s unfortunate that the two-time Cy Young winner is already dealing with an ailment so early in his Dodgers tenure.
“One day, you feel good with where you’re at, and then the next day you’re scrambling a little bit,” Roberts acknowledged. “That’s part of the marathon of a major-league season.”
A total of 12 pitchers are on the injured list so early in the 2025 season. The Dodgers made it a priority to acquire pitching depth this offseason, and that will certainly be put to the test this month.
Snell is set to miss two starts, but the Dodgers will re-evaluate the left-hander before making any decisions about his return.
“I think (he will miss) two starts,” Roberts said. “If you’re going to go on the IL, certainly where we’re at in the season, two is the floor and we’ll see from there.”
