Corey Seager Will Play for Rangers Wednesday Against Dodgers

Former Dodgers World Series MVP Corey Seager will finally get to play against his former team at Dodger Stadium.

Seager is in the Texas Rangers’ lineup on Wednesday night for the first time in a week, and will be batting second against his former teammate, Walker Buehler.

Here’s the full Rangers’ lineup:

Seager was out of the Rangers’ lineup on Tuesday night as he continues to recover from a hamstring issue. However, he’s good enough to hit on Wednesday, so he’ll be in the lineup as the team’s designated hitter.

Seager, 30, was drafted by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He won the Rookie of the Year award with L.A. in 2016, and helped lead them to a World Series championship in 2020. He then signed a massive 10-year, $325 million with the Rangers ahead of the 2022 season, and helped them win the World Series last year, also taking home the World Series MVP honors.

Seager has played one game against the Dodgers in his career, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double.
