Dave Roberts Provides Exciting Update on Kiké Hernandez Ahead of Dodgers Ring Ceremony
Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Kiké Hernández will return to Dodger Stadium Friday night for the ring ceremony, per manager Dave Roberts. The fan favorite did not attend the home opener as he battled a stomach illness.

Hernández will not compete against the Detroit Tigers Friday as he tries to regain strength, but Roberts did say he is feeling “much better.” With Michael Conforto out of the Opening Day lineup yesterday, Hernández likely would have played had he not been ill.
Hernández was vomiting and could not keep solid food down, similarly to Mookie Betts’ mysterious illness. However, Roberts said he did not believe the two incidents were connected.
“We felt it would have happened earlier,” Roberts said Thursday, while also noting other players had “sniffles and things like that” recently.
Hernández played in both games of the Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs as well as all three games of the Freeway Series against the Los Angeles Angels. The fan favorite hit a three-run bomb at the Tokyo Dome against the Cubs.
