Dodger News: Yasiel Puig Fined Same Day He Hits Winning Home Run

Hey DodgersNation I’m Cyrus Palizban here with your Dodgers Update. Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig has been fined by manager Don Mattingly for showing up late yesterday afternoon for the Dodgers game against the Miami Marlins.

Despite having a terrific rookie season Puig has quickly learned that there is no excuse for arriving late to the ballpark on game day. In the end this could just be another life lesson Puig learns in his first year in the major league’s.

Puig was not in the starting lineup to begin the game, and it appeared as if he wouldn’t play at all. However that all changed late in the game. With the score tied at four a piece Puig was inserted into the lineup to lead off the 8th inning, and only needed one pitch to break the tie.

Puig homered in the top of the eighth, and quickly became the hero of the game as the Dodgers eventually ended up defeating the Marlins 6-4 to end their two game losing streak.

With everything that transpired yesterday, we wanted to know what your thoughts are on Puig’s day. Let us know in the comments below, and don’t forget to subscribe to our DodgersNation media YouTube channel.
