Dodger Stadium To Host Doubleheader In College Baseball Classic
Weeks before the Los Angeles Dodgers are back in town from Spring Training, Dodger Stadium will play host to championship-caliber baseball. The USC-UCLA rivalry, along with two other baseball powerhouses, TCU and Vanderbilt, will head to Chavez Ravine as part of the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic on March 8.
Vanderbilt University, the defending College World Series champions and ranked No. 1 in Baseball America’s Top-25 poll, will begin the day by facing No. 7 TCU, another 2014 CWS participant, at 11:45 a.m..
The second game of the doubleheader, which pits the Bruins vs. the Trojans, is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start. The Bruins, who won the 2013 CWS, are ranked No. 11 in the nation, while the Trojans are the only unranked team in the competition, but currently are 8-0 and the only undefeated Pac-12 team.
The event has been held every year since 2010 — with the exception of last year — and the Bruins hold a 3-1 edge over their crosstown rivals. Prior to facing the Bruins at Dodger Stadium, the Trojans will face TCU at Dedeaux Field on March 6 and host Vanderbilt on March 7.
Dugout Club seats are priced at $25, Baseline Club seats are $20 and Field level seats are $10. Tickets can be purchased at Dodgers.com/classic, uclabruins.com and gettrojantix.com. Admission for USC and UCLA students is $5.
The Dodgers will also host fans from USC and UCLA at their respective annual nights at Dodger Stadium. USC Night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 when the Dodgers face the San Francisco Giants and UCLA Night is Friday, May 1 when the Arizona Diamondbacks visit Chavez Ravine.
Fans can purchase special ticket packages for each night, which includes a commemorative shirt at dodgers.com/usc and dodgers.com/ucla.
