Dodgers Claim Nationals Relief Pitcher Ryan Madson off Waivers
According to Ken Gurnick, the Los Angeles Dodgers claimed Ryan Madson off revocable trade waivers to help shore up a very shaky bullpen for this final playoff push.
The Dodgers, who had interest three years ago when he was a free agent, put in a waiver claim for Nationals reliever Ryan Madson, according to a baseball source. Madson just came off the DL with lumbar irritation.

The Nationals have been having a fire sale of late with Daniel Murphy going to the Cubs and flirting with the idea of trading Bryce Harper as early as the All-Star Break. The Dodgers have been interested in Madson ever since his Royals days in 2015.
The Dodgers have 48 hours to figure out a trade for Madson and if everything works out, he could be here to help us out versus the Diamondbacks in a pivotal series that may determmine their Dodgers playoff hopes.
Madson is owed $1.36 million on his contract, which means the Nationals need to send money in the agreed trade to keep the Dodgers under the infamous luxury tax threshold.
