The wait is over. After nearly a month since reports claimed Clayton Kershaw was going to sign with the Dodgers, the team made it official that the future Hall of Fame pitcher will be bringing it back for at-least one more season.
For a team that lost Tyler Anderson to the Angels this off-season, this official move cushions the blow every so slightly. Of course there’s still more work that needs to be done.
Although it was dramatic, there was little indication that Kershaw coming back to the team was in any doubt. Nonetheless, Dodgers fans can now focus their attention to other potential moves and Kershaw was able to give a heartfelt holiday message after the official signing.

It’s reassuring to see both sides wanted to see Kershaw back in a Dodgers uniform for at-least one more season. The veteran leadership alone is enough to bolster any pitching unit and is something that can help propel the team back into the championship conversation.
The three-time Cy Young winner is now prepared to enter his 16th season in the league. Despite the longevity of such an illustrious career, Kershaw still remains in the conversation of top pitchers in the league as he secured his ninth All-Star appearance in 2022.
Kershaw’s devastating slider keeps him as one of the most feared pitchers in the league as he finished with a 2.28 ERA with a 12-3 record. This remains a sight to see and something Dodgers fans won’t easily get tired of.
