Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw Shares Heartwarming Fruits of Foundation's Efforts

Not only do we love our Dodgers because of the players’ success on the field but also the love and work they pour into the community through their own foundations and charities. Time and time again they prove that baseball is more than just a game and that they can use their name and image to make a difference in the lives of others.

One of those players who uses his platform and following to make a difference is Los Angeles legend, Clayton Kershaw. The three-time Cy Young award winner has spent his time in LA since his major league debut in 2008. In 2011, he started “Kershaw’s Challenge.”

“Kershaw’s Challenge is a faith-based, others-focused organization. We exist to encourage people to use whatever God-given passion or talent they have to make a difference and give back to people in need. We want to empower people to use their spheres of influence to impact communities positively and to expand God’s Kingdom. We believe that God can transform at-risk children and neighborhoods through the benevolence and impact of others.”

After the 2022 year has finally come to an end, the Texas-native shared on Instagram a heart-felt summary of the support his foundation was able to help garner:

Most of you know about his most famous event, Ping Pong for Purpose which is a the annual tournament usually hosted in Dodger Stadium featuring plenty of Hollywood stars such as Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Will Ferrell, Brad Paisley, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Mario Lopez, and welcomed the entire Dodgers staff and roster as well. The event alone raised $1 million towards the foundation’s overall $3.2 million raised in 2022.

Since 2011, Kershaw’s Challenge has helped raise $14 million towards supporting at-risk children and families around the globe. To learn more about Clayton and his wife, Ellen’s, charity and how you can get involved you can refer to their official website.
