Dodgers: Dustin May Wins Illustrious ‘Best Hair in Baseball’ Tournament
When Dustin May takes the field, no matter where you are, you can’t miss him Those curly, red, bouncing locks of hair instantly draw your attention, though it also helps that he is 6-foot-6. The Dodgers’ highly-rated prospect took home an award like no other for that hair this week, beating out some great MLB flows.
May was in the final this week against the Braves’ Dansby Swanson. He called on the Dodgers’ fan base to get him through to win it all, and boy did they ever come through. May talked about the tournament heading into the final round.
It’s one of those stepping stones and things you can put under your belt and know that you have it. Just having that ability to know you won something. I’m a very competitive person. So I don’t want to lose. That’s kind of my thought process.
Of the 26k votes placed in the final round of the bracket, May received 55 percent of the vote to take down Swanson. The Dodgers’ young pitcher even received a congratulations message from Carrot Top himself which was…interesting.
The Dodgers social media team recognized the award by tweeting out a GREAT slo-mo video of Dustin May’s hair that you will not want to miss.
On the subject of Dustin May, aside from having the best flow in the game, he is also 100 percent ready to go when baseball returns. A lingering side injury had kept May out of Dodgers Spring Training games up until the COVID-19 shutdown, but the 22-year-old has said he is all cleared and ready to go full throttle this season.
May was likely set to head back to Triple-A at the start of the season, given the number of starters the Dodgers currently have. It’s unclear if this shutdown changes anything for him.
