Dodgers Fans React to Dave Roberts Revealing Top of LA Lineup With Shohei Ohtani Leading Off

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed the top of the lineup for the 2025 season ahead of the team’s first spring training game.

  1. Shohei Ohtani
  2. Mookie Betts
  3. Freddie Freeman
  4. Teoscar Hernández

The Dodgers will have the reigning NL MVP bat leadoff, but given Ohtani’s looming two-way debut, it remains unclear whether the lineup will stay the same once Ohtani takes the mound.

Last season, the Dodgers began the year with Betts as the leadoff hitter, but he was replaced by Ohtani after fracturing his hand.

Now, it looks like the Dodgers will stick with the top of the order the team won a World Series with. Here’s what Dodgers fans think about the L.A. lineup for 2025:

  1. I could give my opinion, but then I realize I’m just a schmuck who has no insight to the conversations within the walls of Dodger Stadium. I’m pretty sure the guys running the show are not only much smarter than myself, but also have access to information that the rest of us do not.

    1. Don’t sell yourself so short. Remember, those so called smart guys in Dallas shipped Luka Don?i? to the Lakers for the oft injured Davis…

  2. I still picture Ohtani batting 2nd or 3rd because of his power swings and Mookie leading off. But Doc’s the manager not me.

  3. I don’t like O leading off. Mook should lead off, O bats second and you can flip flop Freddie and Teo batting third and fourth.

  4. What I really wrestle with is Max playing 3rd base. He is a pretty good fielder but can be a total liability at bat. I would like to see his batting average increase to at least 250 instead of taking walks every 5 times up..He’s way too selective and misses out on good pitches early in the count. This gets him into a lot of 2 strike counts which inevitably leads to too may K’s..
