Dodgers Fans Sound Off on What LA Should Do at This Year’s Trade Deadline
Most of us probably didn’t see the Dodgers sitting at third place in the National League West as the end of June approaches. With a bullpen ranking among the worst in baseball in ERA, hits allowed and home runs allowed, the trade deadline might present an opportunity for the Dodgers to acquire a big name relief pitcher. Or they could bolster their already-potent offense by trading for a powerful bat.
We asked you to give us your thoughts on what the Dodgers should do by the Aug. 1 trade deadline over on our Twitter (@dodgersnation). Here are some of our favorite replies.
Some of you took a more conservative approach.
Never make a trade out of desperation. Teams will attempt to extract too much of a price. There are still 3 months left in the season. I see so many on here panicking. The team is only 4 games out of 1st.

Don't panic. Urias and Huddy will be back soon, and I am really curious to see if they can work the magic on Ken Giles. The young guys are getting some extremely valuable experience, and insight on what it's like to be expected to win.

Others have already sold out on this season, and argued the Dodgers should stock up for the future.
You don't. You are in 3rd place and it's almost July. And the Padres still probably have a better roster on paper.
Sell at the deadline and reload for next year. This year is lost.— Dan Town (@DanTown22) June 19, 2023
I’m staying put, tank the season, bring up most of the farm, get a lot young guys reps and innings in the MLB. Can’t win them all, let the young ones get time, and get right for next year

Some had more specific transactional advice.
Move Gonsolin to the pen when Urias is activated. Also put Sheehan back there, and and DEFINITELY move out Vesia. Loose Gonzalez once we get Hudson back.

Fire someone in our training/ conditioning staff. Everyone getting hurt with knees or hamstrings
Is unacceptable.
