Dodgers Fans Voice Concern for Injured Starting Rotation

In a recent Dodgers Nation poll on Twitter/X, fans shared their opinions on all different aspects of the team right now from addressing the injury-plagued starting rotation to evaluating Dave Roberts’ work this season.

With the All-Star break and trade deadline approaching, fans expressed their concerns regarding the Dodgers and changes they would like to before the postseason.

The biggest concern, by far, was the starting rotation.

It’s no secret the consistency of the rotation has suffered as a result of injuries all season long. The recent additions of Tyler Glasnow, Walker Buehler and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the injured list have been discouraging to fans.

Additionally, the healthy starters are struggling. Bobby Miller was optioned to the Triple-A on July 10 following the worst start in his career.

One dissenting fan pointed out that when you look at the standings, the rotation isn’t doing too bad and that struggling is inevitable in baseball.

While the rotation received some criticism from fans, the bullpen earned more support than they have in previous polls.

Although the bullpen is also battling injuries, fans praised the relievers for being able to pull the Dodgers out of ruts created by shaky starts and blamed losses on the rotation.

Regarding position players, fans had evenly split opinions.

One fan requested a permanent spot for two players in the infield.

With the recent injury of Max Muncy, the Dodgers need to fill the third base position. While that fan suggested Miguel Vargas at third, others fans had suggestions for trade targets.

The majority of fans support the Dodgers’ front office work this season. But, with the trade deadline at the end of this month and some fans urging for certain trade moves, the approval of the front office work could rise or fall sharply in the coming weeks.

Many fans expressed in the comments of these polls their dissatisfaction with Dave Roberts, especially with how he is handling the overload of injuries on the team. However, when asked directly about Roberts’, fans voted in support of the Los Angeles manager.

But, one fan was explicit with their opinion, no matter how harsh.
