Dodgers Free Agent Jake Marisnick Joins AL West Squad on MiLB Deal

Former Dodgers outfielder Jake Marisnick has signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels. He will likely be given a chance to make their big-league roster, and he gives the Halos a little more depth at the outfield position.

Marisnick spent a couple of games with the Dodgers this past season, playing in four total contests. He signed a major-league deal with L.A. right after he departed the Detroit Tigers organization.

He went 2-5 at the plate during that time, hitting .400.

Unfortunately, he got injured shortly into his Dodgers tenure and ended up missing the rest of the season. He would have provided some depth down the stretch of the season, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

Fans were a little hesitant when the front office first brought Marisnick onto the roster, due to his affiliation with the 2017 Houston Astros. While the veteran wasn’t with the Astros during their postseason run, he was still on the roster, and fans haven’t forgotten about the cheating scandal.

They were willing to give Marisnick a chance to redeem himself, especially considering he wasn’t a part of the group that played against them in the World Series. But his time as a Dodger was short-lived, and he now heads down the freeway to play for the Angels.
