Dodgers Highlight Of The Week: Yasiel Puig Makes Amazing Diving Catch

The Los Angeles Dodgers started Thursday’s game against the New York Mets strong and quickly gained a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

With the score tied 1-1 in the second a runner on first, Wilmer Flores hit a line drive to right-center field that Yasiel Puig tracked and made an amazing diving catch. The right fielder stretched out and flew through the air to make the catch, then nearly doubled off the runner at first. Greinke turned to Puig with a sigh of relief as the Mets fans gave him a standing ovation.

Puig was recently named the NL Co-Player of the Week and his play has put him in contention for NL Player of the Month. Entering Sunday, Puig is batting .422 with a .783 slugging percentage in addition to seven home runs and 23 RBIs in the month of May.

As he enters into one full year of being a Major League player, he continues to impress the baseball world one highlight reel at a time and recently spoke of feeling as though be belongs in the league.
