Dodgers Injury Update: Joe Kelly Nearing Return to Active Roster
The Dodgers knew their bullpen would be the weakest link heading into the season, but I don’t think they expected to struggle this much. As a team, Los Angeles ranks third with a 3.00 ERA. The bullpen alone, however, is pitching to the tune of a 4.00 ERA.
One reason for the early season struggles has been the lack of some big names in their bullpen. Both Joe Kelly and Brusdar Graterol were unable to make the opening day roster, and the team was forced to go with less experienced arms. Graterol has since joined the team, and it seems that Joe Kelly is close to doing the same.
According to Dave Roberts, Kelly could rejoin the team as early as the upcoming road trip that kicks off on Thursday.
Well Joe’s going to pitch tomorrow, so yeah. Certainly he’s a possibility depending on how he comes out of that. Yeah, it’s a possibility.
Roberts went on to mention that Joe Kelly has been pitching regularly at the team’s alternate site in Arizona, throwing about 4 outings in recent weeks. It sounds like he’s close to 100% already, but the team has been taking it slow with all of their players coming off of the IL.
With the Dodgers bullpen having had various injuries in recent days, the addition of Kelly would bring some much-needed energy. The bullpen is a big reason this team has lost 6 of their last 10, so any change would likely be an improvement.
The Dodgers will be back on the road after their series with the Reds, taking on the Brewers and Cubs before facing the Angels in Anaheim.

Why so many going on the DL? What can the staff do to prevent this plague?
Talking about going from bad to worse! He is not the answer!
Guess that means the bullpen era will jump to 7.00
