Dodgers’ Justin Wrobleski Fired Up Following All-Star Snub

Rather than discouraging him, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski’s All-Star snub has him even more fired up to perform.

Wrobleski has stepped up in a massive way this season, becoming one of the best starting pitchers in MLB since taking on a larger role as a starter. On the year, Wrobleski has a 2.80 ERA through 15 appearances, 14 of which came as starts. He is one of only seven pitchers in MLB with 10 wins, and has nearly doubled his innings MLB innings total this season.

“To be a 10-game winner right now, to do what he’s done for us, he’s not only raising the floor, but also raising the ceiling,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “It’s pretty impressive. There’s more in there. He’s very prepared. Really good competitor.”

Despite all of the strides he’s made and his meaningful contributions to the Dodgers’ MLB-best start to 2026, an extraordinarily strong season from just about every high-profile pitcher in the National League kept him out of the Midsummer Classic—at least for now.

“I mean, you want to be an All-Star and I felt like I did enough to kind of put myself in that conversation, if not be there,” Wrobleski said. “To not get the selection, yeah, it definitely adds some fuel to the fire for the rest of this year. Go out there every outing and prove that I’m worthy of that, and that I’m going to be one of those guys moving forward.”

Wrobleski still has an opportunity to make it into the All-Star Game, as substitutes will make their way to Philadelphia to replace pitchers who decide to abstain due to lack of rest or injury.

Which Other Dodgers are Going to the All-Star Game?

The Dodgers currently have five players going to the All-Star Game, and four of them will be starters.

Shohei Ohtani earned the most votes of any NL player in Phase 1 of fan voting, earning him an automatic spot as the designated hitter, and first baseman Freddie Freeman, third baseman Max Muncy and center fielder Andy Pages all earned a starting spot through Phase 2 of fan voting.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the sole pitcher from the Dodgers who earned a spot on the NL’s roster, but Wrobleski could very well be joining him soon.
