Hernández likely would have been in the Opening Day lineup against the left-handed Tarik Skubal. Instead, Miguel Rojas is playing second base for L.A.
Hernández appeared in both games of the Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs, going 1-for-8 with a three-run home run. He then appeared in each of the three games of the Freeway Series, going 1-for-5.

With Hernández out, Rojas is getting the start at second base. The Dodgers have decided to platoon the left-handed Michael Conforto — at least for this game — which puts Andy Pages in left field and Tommy Edman in center field.
