Dodgers Lineup vs Pirates: Will Smith Returns for Yoshinobu Yamamoto Against Paul Skenes Matchup

It’s only April 25, but Friday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates has the potential to be the best pitching matchup of the season.

Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3-1, 0.93 ERA) is taking on Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes (2-2, 2.87 ERA) in a battle between two of the league’s best young pitchers.

Yamamoto already outdueled two-time Cy Young award winner Jacob deGrom earlier this season. He’ll now look to do the same against the reigning National League Rookie of the Year, who finished third in Cy Young voting last year.

Here’s the lineup the Dodgers are sending out against Skenes:

  1. Shohei Ohtani, DH
  2. Mookie Betts, SS
  3. Freddie Freeman, 1B
  4. Teoscar Hernandez, RF
  5. Tommy Edman, 2B
  6. Will Smith, C
  7. Michael Conforto, LF
  8. Max Muncy, 3B
  9. Andy Pages, CF

Dodgers vs Pirates Prediction

The game will live up to the hype as a pitchers duel in Southern California.

Both Yamamoto and Skenes will go six innings, with a total of just three runs crossing the plate against them.

The Dodgers bullpen will hold things down, the offense will add some insurance, and L.A. will win the game, 4-1.

How to Watch Dodgers vs Pirates on Friday

First pitch for Dodgers vs. Pirates on Friday, April 25 is 7:10 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on SNLA and MLB Network.
