Dodgers Linked to Rangers’ Joey Gallo and Mike Minor in MLB Writer Trade Proposal
As every off-season goes, there will be lots of trade proposals surrounding the Dodgers and with the quantity will come a lack of quality.
There have already been some trade proposals that have linked the Dodgers to Mookie Betts and the Boston Red Sox as well as Francisco Lindor and the Cleveland Indians that have been… off. It seems as if the media vastly underrate the Dodgers’ tremendous core of young players and prospects. In the latest edition of off-base trade proposals, David Adler of MLB.com has suggested that the Dodgers and Rangers link up for a deal.
7 blockbuster deals to dream of on Black Friday

According to Adler, a deal where the Texas Rangers send outfielder Joey Gallo and left-handed starting pitcher Mike Minor to Los Angeles could work if the Dodgers shipped a massive haul of Tony Gonsolin, Keibert Ruiz, and Alex Verdugo. This will never happen and it is not even remotely close in terms of trade value.
Minor and Gallo are both excellent players, but it is very possible that the trio of young Dodgers outperforms the duo by themselves in 2020. According to Baseball Trade Values, the Dodgers would be relinquishing $120.6 million worth of value and only receiving $79.8 million in value in return.
This trade obviously will not be one that comes into fruition, but it is a good measuring stick to see what the media believes due to the market inefficiencies of the offseason.
The Dodgers will make a move or two or three this off-season, but it certainly will not be one of this ilk.
Sorry, but that is an idiotic trade proposal.
Yes, it is. Amazing how an opinion is taken as reality.
Nobody knows what possible trades are being discussed, and there are countless possibilities. I get that journalists have to write something to get paid, but I wish they would just offer suggestions instead of passing baseless rumors.
Yes it is Verdugo proved to be an outstanding young talent. I believe the Dodgers could be planning to use Gonsolin in the BP or possibly starting depending on what happens with Maeda.
The Dodgers should stand strong on Vergudo he is the fire in the Dodgers belly and also a damn good player. I’m a big Doggie fan.
When pig fly!
Hard to believe that sports writers get paid for coming up with stupid crap like this and other “trade proposals”. Off-season must suck for these guys.
Who thinks about stupid deals like these.
Yeah, I bet the Dodgers would like a 40-50 home run guy that’s learned to cut his strike outs vastly down & a strong #2 lefty for who??? Yep, not going to happen. Daniels has done some stupid trades, but, surely he’s not that dumb.
Can we trade Friedman and Roberts?
do not trade verdugo
