Dodgers Make Exciting Announcement Regarding Dodger Stadium

Los Angeles has played host to a plethora of historic sporting events.

From countless Super Bowls and NBA Finals to MLB World Series games, World Cup matches, and two Summer Olympics (among other events), the City of Angels truly has a flair for the dramatic.

Of course, Dodger Stadium is no stranger to iconic moments. The World Series games in which Kirk Gibson and Freddie Freeman hit walk-off home runs come to mind.

When the Summer Olympics come to Los Angeles again in 2028, the collective viewing audience may be in line for something even more special.

It was announced Tuesday afternoon that Dodger Stadium will be the official site for all baseball competitions held during the 2028 Olympics. The news broke as other Olympic sports sites across the city were announced.

This will not be the first time in which Olympic baseball has been held in Chavez Ravine. The sport was played at the decorated venue the last time Los Angeles played host for the spectacle. Coincidentally enough, it was Japan who bested the United States for the gold medal that year. Chinese Taipei earned the bronze medal.

It will be fascinating to see whether further renovations will be executed in the wake of this past offseason. Dodger Stadium has been undergoing a wave of improvements over the last few years — culminating with a brand new clubhouse for both the home team and visiting teams.

In terms of a summer setting, one would be hard-pressed to come up with a more appropriate venue. The idyllic San Gabriel Mountains are often illuminated by the soft sunsets giving those in attendance among the best view in all of professional baseball. When factoring in the history present with Dodger Stadium, the competition for the gold medal should be truly enthralling.
