Dodgers Make Trade, Acquire Pitcher From Red Sox Ahead of Opening Day
The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a pre-Opening-Day trade.
The team has acquired right-handed pitcher Noah Davis from the Boston Red Sox for cash. He’ll report to Triple-A Oklahoma City, and take a spot on the 40-man roster. Right-handed pitcher Emmet Sheehan was moved to the 60-day IL.

Davis, 27, was an 11th-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2018. He was traded to the Colorado Rockies in 2021, where he made his MLB debut in 2022.
Across three seasons with the Rockies, Davis has thrown 51.1 innings, sporting a 7.71 ERA with 43 strikeouts and 23 walks.
Davis joined the Red Sox on a minor league deal this offseason. This spring, he had a 4.82 ERA across 9.1 innings pitched.
Davis will serve as minor league depth for the Dodgers, a team that has a track record of turning once-struggling pitchers into capable MLB players.
