Dodgers Manager Reveals How Andy Pages Completely Turned Things Around This Month

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages was 10-for-12 against the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend. In Sunday’s 9-2 win, Pages recorded four hits and four RBIs — a career-high for the 24-year-old.

Manager Dave Roberts said the breakout performance from Pages is not because of a swing change, rather it was a shift in his mindset.

“I think that a big part of individual success is knowing who you are,” Roberts said, via The Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett. “And some people are mechanical-based, and some people – are sort of – have an approach, have an idea what the pitcher is trying to do, and then go out there and be a hitter. And that I think, in my opinion, what works best for Andy (is to be) not too concerned about where his hands are at, where his stride is at, all that stuff.”

Pages was hitting just .137 through the first 16 games of the season. Heading into Monday’s series opener with the Miami Marlins, the outfielder is hitting .277.

Pages became the first Dodger since Freddie Freeman in 2023 to record at least 10 hits across a three-game series following his performance against the Pirates. He is just the 13th player in franchise history dating back to 1901 to achieve the feat.

“That’s the most important thing, doing what I can to help the team win,” Pages said. “For a few turns that I had at the beginning of the season, things are working out. Now that (I’m) getting a little more at-bats and starting to get some things up, it’s good to help the team.”
