Dodgers Minor League News: Cody Bellinger and Chase De Jong Lead OKC to Victory
The Dodgers’ minor league system has been overflowing with talent as of late, producing guys like Corey Seager, Julio Urias, and now Jose De Leon; however, there is still so much more to come. There are guys like Willie Calhoun, Alex Verdugo, and Will Smith who are absolutely killing it in the minors. Thankfully, a few players have finally been noticed and were promoted because of it!
On Saturday, September 3rd, reporters announced that Cody Bellinger, Chase De Jong, and Joe Broussard had been called up to the OKC Dodgers, the Triple-A affiliate of Los Angeles.

By now, Cody Bellinger and Chase De Jong are household names, being that they are the number 1 and 17 top prospects in the organization. Well, on Sunday they showed OKC fans exactly why that is!
Bellinger would hit his first 2 home runs with OKC and De Jong would go 5.1 innings striking out 8 and only giving up 1 run!
In his first Triple-A start, @Cody_Bellinger went 3 for 5 with two homers.

Watch Bellinger absolutely crush the ball twice below!
Whether or not we will see these two in Los Angeles is still uncertain. Bellinger, hitting .269 with 25 home runs this year, has some stiff competition in Adrian Gonzalez. De Jong on the other hand, is 15-5 with an ERA of just 2.82, so the likelihood of him being called up is much greater. All in all, this front office has proven that they know what they are doing when it comes prospects, so we will just have to wait and see.
