Player of the Day – Scott Schebler
First, a shoutout to Pedro Baez, who came in to a bases loaded, no outs jam in the 9th and struck out the side to secure the win. Now, onto Scottie. The Schebmeister crushed a pair of home runs in the contest, giving him eight on the season, which is second in the Southern League. His OPS ranked 7th and he’s 3rd in total bases. Schebler’s biggest obstacle is hitting lefties, who are holding him to a .148/.258/.333 line in 27 at bats. He also could stand to cut down on his strikeouts and draw some more walks. It’s still fairly early in the season so there’s time for him to improve.
