Player of the Day – Brandon Dixon
For the second game in a row, the Quakes got a late-inning, game-tying home run. Unfortunately, for the second game in a row, the Quakes would fall in extra innings. Monday’s hero was Brandon Dixon, who came up down 3-0 in the bottom of the 8th and hit a two-out, three-run home run. Rancho would allow a pair of runs in the 10th inning and lose, but still a nice performance from Dixon. After batting .148 in the first month of the season, Brandon has turned things around and is now hitting .330 in May with an .850 OPS. He’s also made a comfortable transition to second base. After batting just .185 in his debut, Dixon seems to be establishing himself as a legitimate prospect.
