Player of the Day – Greg Harris
The 19-year-old right-hander has had mixed results in his first full season, though he’s excelled of late. In his last four games, Harris has allowed just one earned run. His ERA in June was a meager 0.60. His peripherals have remained very strong. In 58 innings, he’s posted a 61-to-19 strikeout to walk ratio and allowed just four home runs. The Newport Beach native’s ERA is 4.81, which is higher than you’d expect given his excellent control and ability to keep the ball on the ground. He’s working in tandem with Victor Arano, splitting time between starting and relieving, and seems to prefer coming out of the pen, with an ERA nearly 3 points lower in that scenario.
