Player of the Day – Jesmuel Valentin
The Dodgers’ second pick in 2012 hasn’t had the success of their first pick, Corey Seager, but Valentin is beginning to turn things around late in the season. In June, Valentin hit .321 but his production has fallen off a bit in July.
Still, he’s 7 for his last 14 and has stolen 22 bases this season. After beginning his career at shortstop, he’s now a second baseman where his defense is above average.
