Player of the Day – Andres Santiago
It was a historic day in Los Angeles Dodgers history, as two Minor League clubs pitch no-hitters on the same day. The first occurred when Jairo Pacheco led the AZL Dodgers for six innings, followed by Kam Uter, Yeuri Gonzalez and Harlan Richter. The win also secured their spot in the playoffs.
The second was more dramatic, as Santiago took a perfect game into the eighth inning. With one out, Santiago walked Christian Villanueva to lose the shot at perfection. However, a double play ended the inning and kept the no-hitter in tact. In the ninth, Santiago struck out the side to make history and end his season in historic fashion.
