Dodgers: Mookie Betts Headed to IL with Cracked Rib
First, Mookie was a late scratch on Friday. Then, he was a late scratch again on Saturday. Now, it’s completely up in the air when Mookie Betts will be back in the starting lineup for the Dodgers.
After the Dodgers routed Cleveland 7-1 on Saturday, manager Dave Roberts stated that a MRI revealed a cracked rib from his collision with center fielder Cody Bellinger during Wednesday’s game against the Angels. AM570’s David Vassegh was one of the first to report the news.

On Friday, an X-ray came back negative, but Mookie was still held out of the lineup due to soreness in the area.
In a corresponding roster move, Roberts hinted that the Dodgers will likely promote utility man Zach McKinstry from Triple-A.
At the moment, there is no timetable for a return for Betts.
