Dodgers News And Rumors: Seth Rosin Could Make Team, More On Tanaka
Right-hander Seth Rosin was acquired from the New York Mets from the Rule 5 draft and will have to make the Los Angeles Dodgers out of spring training or he be offered back to the Philadelphia Phillies for $25,000.
Rosin spent time in Double-A for the Phillies in 2013, but GM Ned Colletti said he will have a chance to make the team depending on injuries and production. The bullpen is already crowded after the signings of Jamey Wright and Chris Perez and an extra spot will be hard to come by.
Masahiro Tanaka has returned to Japan after meeting with teams this week and will have to have a decision by January 24. The Dodgers are expected to be one of the finalists for the right-hander’s services and it has been said that he prefers to play in Los Angeles, New York and Boston.
