While many believe the Los Angeles Dodgers will be involved in trade talks for Tampa Bay Rays left-hander David Price, there was another pitcher that the team inquired on.
Prior to being shipped to the Oakland Athletics, the Dodgers called the Chicago Cubs to hold preliminary talks on a trade for Jeff Samardzija. The talks never gained much traction as the Dodgers refused to include prospects such as, outfielder Joc Pederson and infielder Corey Seager.
Samardzija had a sub-2.00 ERA through his first 11 starts this season with a 1-4 record, however he was chased by multiple teams that were looking for starting rotation help and the Cubs landed talented prospects in the trade.
