Dodgers News: Caleb Ferguson Away From Team for Milwaukee Series

As the Dodgers visit Milwaukee, they’ll be down a pitcher on Monday. Lefty reliever Caleb Ferguson has left the team and is flying back home for the birth of his first child with wife Carissa. So, the baby blue Dodgers continue.

Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times was among those to report the news.

Add Ferguson to the list of Dodgers having babies this season. Mookie Betts lead off the baby boom first and was followed by Evan Phillips, Max Muncy, and Brusdar Graterol. You can also throw in now-Cubs center fielder Cody Bellinger as one of the guys from the 2022 team to have kids within a three week stretch. Thankfully Caleb should mark the end of Dodger babies in 2023.

Ferguson has been exceptional for the Dodgers this year, posting a 1.26 ERA over 15 appearances. He tossed a clean 9th inning in LA’s comeback win over the Padres on Sunday night.
