Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman Responds to Media Criticism Over His Weekend Emotions With the Braves
What a wild week it was for Freddie Freeman. With the Dodgers visiting the Braves over the weekend, Freeman got to return to Atlanta for the first time since he signed his new deal. As expected, there were some emotions on display throughout the series.
But Freeman came under fire from Dodgers fans this week for that series. It led many to believe that he really wanted to be in Atlanta, and signing here was by far his second choice. Add in the firing of his agent this week over free agency, and it’s been a mess.
But Freddie took matters into his own hands today. The Dodgers first baseman addressed the entire fanbase and media, saying it was time to put the past in the past. He reiterated that he was focused on being here for the next 6 years.
Freddie Freeman: “There needs to be closure. It's time. I'm a Dodger for the next six years and that's where my focus lies…I’m happy to be a Dodger.”

Fans are going to interpret things however they want, and they’re entitled to their opinion. But Freddie is with the Dodgers now, and we all should very much be looking at the future with him at first base. Sure, I can see how it’s awkward to see the emotions from Freddie over his old team.
But he signed a massive deal with the Dodgers to be the first baseman of the future. He’s here now, appreciate him while we have him.
