Dodgers News: Gavin Lux Will Miss Series vs Giants

As the nagging injuries continue to pile up at the worst time of the season, the Dodgers lineup took a hit with the extended loss of Gavin Lux.

The second baseman didn’t appear in a game when the Padres were in town over the weekend and now he’ll miss the series against the Giants while dealing with a neck issue.

“No chance he’ll play in this series.”

Lux had a cortisone shot on Saturday and it was expected then that he could end up missing the entire homestand. Dave Roberts confirmed that would, in fact, be the case ahead of Monday night’s game.

The infielder is in the midst of a fine season at the plate, hitting .293 with a .797 OPS in a career-high 115 games.

In Gavin’s place, Roberts has turned to Mookie Betts a few times at second base, something Doc has wanted to do more often as the season has gone along.
