Dodgers News: Hyun-Jin Ryu Earns Spot In Starting Rotation
After a very successful spring, Dave Roberts has named Hyun-Jin Ryu as one of his five Opening Day starters.
Ryu made his final start in Arizona on Monday afternoon. Before the game, Dave Roberts said that he would be making his decision on Ryu after the start.
Roberts must have liked what he saw from the lefty because immediately after the game, he announced Ryu would be in the starting rotation, taking the fourth out of the five available spots.

Ryu was by far an underdog when the Dodgers arrived at Camelback Ranch in late February. But pitching to the tune of a 2.57 ERA over his four outings was something that could not go without reward. In 14 innings, Ryu walked just one batter while striking out 12. He continually showed his health after every start, coming back and successfully pitching every five days.
According to Eric Stephen of True Blue LA, Ryu will make one final preseason appearance in a short outing against the Angels during the freeway series.

With Ryu taking the fourth spot in the rotation, the battle for the number five spot is now officially between Brandon McCarthy and Alex Wood.
