Dodgers News: Joe Kelly Expected to be Activated for Series in San Diego

Since August 10th, the Dodgers have been missing Joe Kelly who has been out with an undisclosed injury. But now, it’s looking like he should be back with the team this week. The big question was, when will he be back? The LA bullpen has accomplished a lot over the past week and hopefully, Kelly can help the team keep that momentum going.

Dave Roberts spoke with the media and gave a quick rundown on what is expected from the right-handed pitcher after his last rehab start.

He was rusty…so we just felt that because of that he started opener, he’s going to pitch today coming out of the ‘pen, throw an inning and expect him to be good and activated during that San Diego series.

Although Kelly was a little rusty during his rehab, that should subside quickly, especially with how well he has been playing.

All good news from Doc, and just at the right time. It is no secret that the Padres have some incredible players in their lineup. With the NL home run leader, Fernando Tatís Jr. back in action, having Kelly back is a major plus for the backend of the bullpen.

Overall, the hope is that Kelly is able to come back right where he left off, so it will be exciting to see if the Dodgers can keep their winning streak alive.

  1. Jesus H, was he hurt again! When is this guy gonna earn his fat freaking paycheck?
Sorry, he makes too damn much for contributing so little.

  2. It could have been CoVID. They didn’t announce an injury. They can use him one inning every 2-3 days.
