Dodgers News: Justin Turner Absolutely Loves Hanser Alberto

When you make a difference for the Dodgers, people will notice. Luckily for LA infielder Hanser Alberto, he doesn’t need to look far for his seal of approval from his new team.

Although Alberto can be seen as an afterthought with such a star-studded team in the Dodgers, it still has led him to a one-year deal with a $2 million team option for the 2023 season and a $250k buyout. Even with the backseat role, his time with the Dodgers so far has gotten the attention of his third base teammate, Justin Turner

Turner had been dealing with an abdominal strain, but has since returned to the lineup and has eight home runs in 94 games this season. Even with his struggles, he has taken note of the impact Alberto has had on him and the team (quotes via Holding Kourt Podcast).

“Obviously I love all our guys and everyone is great, but his guy just brings a little bit different edge to the table, and he’s probably one of the least talked about guys that we got this year. Hanser Alberto. High energy, funny, always in a great mood. Like personality, everything, how he goes about it, he reminds me of Juan Uribe. I think we’re going to have a lot of fun playing on the same team this year. Keep an eye out for Alberto. He’s been an absolute gem of a human.”

Alberto currently has two home runs and 14 RBI’s with a .246 batting average in 55 games this season. If he can spice up the numbers a little more and remain a great person to be around, we will be hearing more of Alberto next season.
