Dodgers News: LA Cuts 3 More From Spring Training Roster

Following Saturday’s loss to the Royals, the Dodgers announced three more players were being cut from the roster and reassigned to minor league camp. Right-handed reliever Wander Suero and outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Steven Duggar are on their way out.

The club made the announcement on Twitter.

Suero was a bit of a point of topic recently in camp. The veteran pitcher had a nice showing this spring, enough to earn the praise of Dave Roberts earlier this week. He owns a 4.61 lifetime ERA in parts of four seasons at the big league level.

Both Zimmer and Duggar were also in the running to potentially make the opening day roster before James Outman secured the spot. Zimmer had the better showing of the two for most of the Cactus League season putting together a .698 OPS over 21 games.

These three players will likely be the first in line to be called up if any injuries occur early for LA.

While the Dodgers’ opening day roster is already set, a few extra players will remain with the team through the upcoming freeway series against the Angels. 35 players remain in big league camp but 5 of those will open the season on the injured list. Jason Heyward (who will be on the opening day roster), outfielder Drew Avans, catcher Hunter Feduccia, and pitcher Tayler Scott will seemingly travel with the team back to Los Angeles.
